About Us

Message From Our President

I am pleased to welcome you to the Urhobo Progress Union Berlin (registered), the official national branch of UPU in Germany. In close collaboration with our mother-organization in Nigeria and our Isoko brethren, we work to unite the Urhobo people across Berlin and Germany. We actively support the establishment of UPU sub-branches nationwide to strengthen our community.

Our dedicated executive team and I are committed to preserving and promoting Urhobo cultural values. We offer language and reading classes for all ages, alongside workshops in traditional cooking, cultural attire, and dance. Additionally, we engage in cultural exchanges and state activities, particularly at the Interkulturelles Haus Berlin, to foster peaceful intercultural cooperation.

One of our long-term goals is to establish an Urhobo House, a cultural center to showcase Urhobo arts and crafts, contributing to diversity and international understanding. We warmly invite you to join us in this important initiative.
