Urhobo Progress Union Berlin

About Us

Who We Are:

Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Berlin is a community-driven organization dedicated to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Urhobo people, a major ethnic group in Nigeria. As part of the global Urhobo Progress Union, the Berlin chapter serves as a gathering point for Urhobos living in Berlin and surrounding areas, fostering unity, promoting cultural values, and contributing to the well-being of our people both at home and in the diaspora.

What We Do:

  • Cultural Celebrations: We organize events such as Urhobo Cultural Day, where members come together to celebrate traditional music, dance, and cuisine, fostering pride in our heritage.
  • Community Support: We provide a platform for members to connect, support one another, and offer assistance in times of need, ensuring that every member feels valued and included.
  • Charitable Activities: UPU Berlin engages in various charitable initiatives, including scholarships for Urhobo students and financial assistance for developmental projects back home in Nigeria.
  • Educational Programs: Through seminars and workshops, we promote the education of our youth in both Urhobo culture and broader skills that can contribute to their personal and professional growth.
